Last week the Year One and Two classes were visited by Jonathan Emmett, a local writer of titles such as Here Be Monsters and the Treasure of Captain Claw. He came and shared his brilliant book ‘The Princess and the Pig’ which is a great anti-princess story during whole school assembly. Then KS1 were treated to another story and treasure hunt game where two lucky children won a book! After lunch we looked at how to write a story and went through how he plans his stories and characters. Plenty of people came at the end of the day to get their books signed and he tweeted to say how much he enjoyed being at Huntingtower Academy.  What a great learning experience!
