Netball aces pipped at the post!
Once again, the netball aces of Huntingtower do us proud!
On Wednesday 6th April our netball team visited Priory Ruskin Academy to compete in a High Five Netball Tournament.
It was great!! Representing Huntingtower were Year 6 pupils Letitia, Leah, Mollie, Olivia, Jack, Bradley and Phil.
With the sun shining and wind blowing we battled our way through our group, having lost a match, we then drew a match and won the next two making us winners of our group. Beating strong teams from Isaac Newton and Allington and drawing against National boosted our confidence as we strode into the next part of the competition like lions!!!!
Full of smiles and with parents cheering us on we played like Gladiators and once again were victorious beating Harlaxton and Denton. Our winning streak came to an end as we were unlucky to concede a last minute goal against Isaac Newton A team but we held our heads high to the applause of the crowd cheering for Huntingtower Community School in 3rd place!!
During the tournament every member of our team scored which was awesome, we really were a good team and hopefully have made our school proud as we used the schools ethos to come shining through as winners.
We would like to thank Mr Turner and the parents for their support and encouragement and the great cheerleading song which made us laugh!!
A great day was had by all and with Leah’s mum buying us all a chocolate bar to say Well Done and Mr Turner sharing his fizzy jellies we all went home happy and proud!
Well done Netball Team, you are all stars!!!!!
