End of a Wonderful Term!

This has really been a fabulous term where much has been achieved. Our pupils are so curious and interested in so many things that so many special events and experiences have happened to name them all. I was in a Y6 class this week whilst they discussed the end of their project on the Plague. Who would have thought that they have enjoyed learning about Medieval Britain and the impact the Plague had on it so much? One even said that they were going to continue to learn about it. Whatever challenges we present to the pupils, they rise to them; their eagerness to learn holds no bounds, it seems. I hope that they have a beautifully sunny and restful holiday ready for the final terms of the year.

And talking of finality, it is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Mrs Lockwood. I joined the school in 1998 and I have realised that there’s never been a time when I’ve worked here that she hasn’t. I’m sure you’ll join with the Academy in extending our sincerest thanks to her for her commitment and dedication to Huntingtower. She really does epitomise the REACH ethos and we know that the Academy has been a better place for having her work with us (certainly a much more organised one!). We wish her the happiest and most fulfilling of retirements and hope that she comes back and visits us soon!
