At Huntingtower Academy, we take online safety very seriously.

Whilst technology can enable and support learning, children need to be taught the skills to use it appropriately and protect themselves online. Online skills are taught throughout the year as part of our computing lessons as well as through targeted online campaigns to refresh and update pupils' knowledge. Staff also access appropriate training. We also have pupil Junior Online Safety Officers to support pupils' with their understanding of online safety.

All of our laptop units, iPad units and classrooms carry online messages, so our pupils are continually aware of how to safely enjoy the internet. As part of the wider Priory Federation of Academies Trust, we use filtering and monitoring software to provide a safer platform for pupils to use technology to support their learning.

Reporting an online safety issue

We are always happy to support you or your child with an online safety issue. Should you or child wish to report a problem, please speak to your child’s class teacher, who will then notify the online safety leader.
